The challenge of this project was to marry existing historic detail with the style and needs of an active young family who love to entertain.

An entirely new kitchen (with secret powder room) was inserted on the main living level, centered by one of the home’s historic fireplaces.

The renovation goal was to try and preserve and at times, relocate, the best of the historic elements while building a 21st century home that will grow and change with the family.

The clawfoot tub was repurposed in the master bath, wrapped in scalloped wall tile.

A rooftop addition features an adaptable suite with full bath that converts from home office to guest room with ease.

A small bar makes hosting guests on the adjacent rooftop deck a breeze

The crisp clean new stair language serves as a foil to the rich detailing of the original stairs.

New stairs up to the roof level are mirrored by stairs to the now lowered and finished basement, which contains a family media and playroom as well as laundry and in-law suite.
