E/L Studio is pleased to announce the opening of a new exhibit we've designed for the National Building Museum launching the 2011 Solar Decathlon.  The exhibit features the 20 semi-finalists in an environment replicating the actual conditions on Oct 8, 2011 when the competition judging begins. Thanks to Susan Piedmont-Palladino and everyone at NBM for this great opportunity!'  The exhibit opens on Saturday May 1 and runs through June. Please make a visit to see this exhibit. Forest House in Great Falls, Va. has won a Merit Award in the 19th annual Inform Awards, sponsored by Inform: Architecture and Design in the Mid-Atlantic.  Mark Lawrence was the project architect on this project with KUBE in 2007.

The renovation of Slocum Hall for Syracuse University’s School of Architecture has won a 2010 Interior Architecture award from the New York AIA.  Elizabeth Emerson was project manager for four years at Garrison Architects.

Christopher Brown (E/L Intern) will be traveling to Barcelona, Spain where he has been awarded placement in the 2010 Smart Geometry Workshop. 
This workshop is organized around the challenge ‘Working prototypes’. Working prototypes are functioning prototypes developed for the purpose of proving and testing a concept and design.  This puts fabrication and the physical at center stage in challenging participants to design, assemble and test working prototypes. The SG workshop is a unique creative cauldron attracting attendees from across the world of academia, professional practice as well as many of the brightest students. The workshop is open to 100 applicants who come together for four intensive days of design and collaboration.
